Test
SEI’s production area consists of 20 workstations for assembly, inspection, test and depot repair. There are dedicated workstations for automatic test set-ups, surface mount soldering and inspection. Other workstations are configurable as necessary. The test setups include automated PC driven test fixtures and a variety of manual test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, Huntron trackers, etc. The inspection stations include a 10 power microscope, magnifying lenses and an ultraviolet inspection lamp.
Production tests are developed by the Engineering Department. Production test technicians perform the factory testing in accordance with approved test procedures, also developed by Engineering. Technicians are Associate Degree personnel, or have more than 5 years in the military testing experience.
Test procedures and test equipment are developed by the Engineering who then validate the equipment and procedures according to an ISO-9000 procedures. If problems with the product or the test procedure occur, Engineering is available to analyze it and develop a solution.
Most electronic testing is automated, whether Acceptance Testing, or Environmental Stress Screening (ESS). SEI has automated test equipment, temperature chambers, and vibration tables, allowing for an environment responsive to the customer. SEI’s factory accommodates more than 7000 square feet of open test benches for assembly and test.
SEI also develops First Article Qualification Test plans and procedures for both hardware and software. These are for both SEI developed products and product developed or modified for the Customer.
