Procurement

Systems & Electronics, Inc (SEI) ensures that purchased product conforms to specified purchase requirements.  The type and extent of control applied to the supplier and the purchased product or components, is dependent upon the effect of the purchased product or components, on subsequent product realization or the final product.  SEI evaluates and selects suppliers based on their ability to supply product and components in accordance with SEI requirements.  Criteria for selection, evaluation, and re-evaluation are established.  Records of the results of evaluations and any necessary actions arising from the evaluation are maintained by documentation requirements.

SEI is responsible for the quality of all products purchased from suppliers, including customer-designated sources; and ensures that software source and approval includes all impacted departments, processes, and operations.

SEI uses only customer and/or regulatory agency approved special process sources when required by contract, and this requirement shall be incumbent to all SEI suppliers.

SEI ensures that the function having responsibility for approving supplier quality systems, may also disapprove the use of sources.
